　　“The Chosen Ones” turns on 15-year-old, Ulises, who is being groomed by his father to enamor young girls, tricking them into prostitution. But he falls in love with Sofia, his first victim, who’s just 14. To save her, his father demands he seduces a second girl, entangling Ulises in the world of juvenile prostitution that he was trying to avoid, from which escape come at a very high price.

　　故事发生在1983年的捷克斯洛伐克，玛丽（苏珊娜·莫拉利 Zuzana Maurery 饰）是这里的一间小学新来的老师，她格外严厉的行事风格和对学生的铁腕统治手段令她刚到这所学校没多久，就已经惹上了不少的麻烦。玛丽对待学生非常的严苛，甚至会对他们进行体罚，她毫无顾忌的发泄着自己的情绪，完全不顾及教师的身份，只因为她有着很硬的后台和灵活的社交手腕。
　　在玛丽的影响之下，一件轰动校园的学生自杀事件让校长决定再也不能对她坐视不管，他联合了家长委员会，试图牵制玛丽的权利。但很显然，善良又有些软弱的校长完全不是玛丽的对手。

　　电影讲述了上世纪九十年代的哈萨克小镇，四个少年各自的生命之路。扎哈拉斯正在备受父亲的煎熬，后者因曾是一个诈骗犯而找不到工作，为了帮助父亲，他不得不在玉米加工厂打工。巴拉潘有一把好嗓子，能够将“万福玛丽亚”唱的娓娓动听，然而校园生活教会他的是使用自己的拳头而不是声音。扎哈巴则在流浪在村子里的垃圾堆中，寻找可以卖的废金属，他与其他三名同龄离家出走的男孩子睡在废弃的隧道中。阿斯兰正在为医药学努力，然而当他说服自己的女朋友堕胎之后，他的人格发生了彻底的改变。
　　A godforsaken Kazakh village in the mid-1990s where four youths are trying to find their way in life. Zharas suffers because his father, an ex-con, cannot find a job. To help make ends meet the boy takes on casual work at a corn merchant’s. Balapan can sing ‘Ave Maria’ as clear as a bell but his schoolmates provoke him into using his fists rather than his voice. Zhaba roams about the village ruins looking for waste metal he can sell. 　　莱拉（杰拉·哈斯 Jella Haase 饰）是一位19岁的少女，性格敏感而又内向的她在长辈们的眼里稍稍的有些叛逆。一天，当莱拉在医院里于昏迷中醒来时，发现自己被强暴了。着天降巨灾让莱拉的精神陷入了崩溃的境地。为了治疗自己心理上的创伤，莱拉主动申请进入了精神病院，在那里，她结识了52岁的安和35岁的弗兰雅。
