惊魂记

　　燥热枯燥的长途旅行，怪物卡车司机“锈钉”（肯·科齐格 Ken Kirzinger 饰）的血腥旅程仍未结束，17号公路上布满残肢断体，娱乐着他的邪恶趣味。某个平凡的路边小餐馆，奥斯汀（Gianpaolo Venuta 饰）、米克（Ben Hollingsworth 饰）、爱丽莎（Leela Savasta 饰）、鲍比（Jake Manley 饰）和茱尔（Kirsten Prout 饰）等五个准备参加公路汽车拉力赛的青年男女正在讨论行车路线，他们向邻桌打听17号公路存在与否，却得知了“屠杀小巷”的传言和警告。
　　无所畏惧的年轻人当然不信这个邪，他们快意上路，并遭遇“锈钉”的卡车。年轻人仗着汽车性能的优势，恣意戏耍“锈钉”，但却惹到了一个绝不能随便招惹的恶魔……

　　另一方面，刚上高中的彩乃、未梦、友梨、芽生等人，对于传说中的煤气事故的传闻产生兴趣，不过他们却遇见了许多不可思议的事件……

　　Three illegal drug dealers launched out on a voyage in a homemade submarine. The submarine worked well initially, but it started to malfunction. In attempting to reduce the weight somehow, they were investigating the cargo section when they discovered a young female, Reina, hidden there, and she looked appalling. As the situation gets worse, the tensions among the three men are heightened, and in the midst of this, Reina attempts to escape, but she has nowhere to go in the endless open sea.
　　With an unusual setting of the submarine, where nothing can be seen other than the horizon, Submersible captures the tension of the conflicts between the characters and their struggle for survival, while the submarine environment itself arouses extreme claustrophobia and anxiety. The top star from Columbia, Natalia Reyes, who attracted the worldwide film industry’s attention with Ciro Guerra’s Birds of Passage (2018), and made her Hollywood debut in Terminator: Dark Fate (2019), once again draws attention in her role as Reina. 　　Sir Charles Baskerville dies at the entrance of his manor, and Doctor Mortimer says he died of natural causes. However, when telling Sherlock Holmes of the case, he feels Sir Charles' death was a result of a centuries old curse that runs in the Baskerville family, which Dr. Mortimer feels will strike at Sir Charles nephew, Sir Henry, who is arriving to claim the Baskerville estate. Holmes sends Dr. Watson in his place, along with Dr. Mortimer and Sir Henry, to the manor and for Watson to keep an eye out for any suspicious actions. Immediately after arriving, Watson notices the queer occurrences at the estate and surrounding moors, and sends Holmes reports of what is going on concerning the life of Sir Henry. Will Holmes arrive in time to unravel the mystery, and who is responsible for Sir Charles' death and the attempted murder of Sir Henry? Is it Dr. Mortimer, neighbor Stapleton, butler Barryman, harmless old Frankland, a mysterious wild man, or is there a curse on the Baskerville family? Very good opening entry in the Rathbone-Bruce Holmes series (even though this film lacks qualities of any ongoing entries.) The film could have been a bit more darker and foreboding (the film does have a movie studio set feel) and have an ending with a little more confrontation to it, but it does provide for much fun. The romantic scenes with Greene and Barrie have little spark, but there are very good red herring performances by the cast, which is a plus for this movie. Rating, 8.
