　　大陆某部级高官涉嫌指派情妇来港洗钱，且金额巨大。为此，ICAC（廉政公署）陆志廉（古天乐 饰）和JFIU（联合财富情报组）刘保强（张智霖 饰）联合展开调查。可就在此时，陆被指控巨额财产来路不明，遭到廉政公署L组（内部纪律调查组）程德明（郑嘉颖 饰）的调查，并最终得到停职的处分。为证明自己清白，陆志廉千方百计找到举报自己的女孩Eva（邓丽欣 饰），发现这一切都与正在调查的洗黑钱案件息息相关。未过多久，中国反贪局侦查处处长洪亮（丁海峰 饰）也来到香港，其矛头正是洗钱案的幕后首脑张部长（冯雷 饰）。

 故事围绕的士司机宇佐美浩二（木村拓哉 饰）展开，他每日奔波于都市间工作养家，却因女儿的学费、的士验车费、房屋租金等接踵而至的现实压力而身心俱疲。某日，浩二接到一项特别的委托——接载年迈的高野堇女士（倍赏千惠子 饰）从东京柴又前往神奈川叶山的养老院。“在离开东京之前，想先到几个想去的地方看看”，堇女士淡然请求。随着的士驶过日本的大街小巷，陌生的两人逐渐打开心扉，堇女士也徐徐道出自己跌宕的人生过往。这趟偶然的旅程，不仅触动了他们的心灵，也让二人在平凡的日子中，为彼此的人生留下难忘的美好印记。

　　鲁南张庄，86岁老人林郭氏，身体硬朗，在农村老宅独自生活。林郭氏突发脑血栓，身体状况逐渐恶化。子女积极为老人操作敬老院入住事宜。敬老院床位紧张，只有等待敬老院有老人去世，按照老人的意愿，开始了到子女家轮流居住的短暂旅程。这一过程中，林郭氏中风摔倒，脑神经损伤，得了笑病。 敬老院终于有老人亡故，空出床位。却在去敬老院的前夕，林郭氏怀揣着全家福老照片溘然长逝。按照老风俗，儿孙们给她办了一场轰轰烈烈的喜丧。 生活重新开始，又是在重复昨天的故事……

　　父亲去世了，后来母亲也去世了，哥哥Steven成了弟弟Nate唯一的家人，弟弟以为以后能与哥哥相依为命，但没想到这次哥哥回来时却带了一个人。
