　　在白家，谁的话都不算数，唯有金钱，被看做是至高无上的统治者。作为屋子里的女主人，白金玉（尹汝贞 饰）除了不断的想着法子往兜里捞钱外，还和自己年轻的男秘书英作（金康宇 饰）行着苟且之事，除了对金钱的无限欲望外，白金玉对于肉欲的渴求也似乎没有止境。对于夫人的不忠，尹会长（白允植 饰）完全不放在心上，对于他来说，只要有钱，其他的一切都阻止不了他前进的脚步。

　　NJ（吴念真）是个很有原则的生意人，同妻子敏敏（金燕玲）、女儿婷婷（李凯莉）、儿子洋洋（张杨洋）以及外婆住在台北某所普通公寓里。小舅子的一场麻烦婚礼过后，因为外婆突然中风昏迷，他迎来更加混乱的日子。
　　敏敏公司、家里两头跑，时常感觉自己要被耗空；婷婷一直为外婆的中风内疚，恋爱谈到中途发现自己不过是替代品；NJ更是麻烦重重，公司面临破产，他又不愿放下别人眼里一文不值的自尊。一家人里，似乎只有洋洋没有烦恼，他平静地用照相机拍着各种人的背面，帮他们长出另一双眼睛，然而，洋洋简简单单的一句话，道出更深的悲凉。

　　恩英与真珠是学生时代的好友，两人的友情被老师阻挠不得不分开，而真珠在自己最爱的画室中意外死亡。三年三班的学生们似乎也经历着和恩英当年类似的青春，坐在曾经真珠座位上的智伍同样钟爱美术；同桌素英成绩优异但为人高傲；洁仪时常笨拙的表达自己对智伍的好感。恩英不久后发现，这所学校里有一名反复更换姓名但永不衰老的学生……
